Manchester United are considering making a shock move for Fulham defender Brede Hangeland. The 31-year-old’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season, but United are hoping to bolster their defensive reinforcements by making a bid for the defender in January. (Metro)
Another player whose future in the Premier League is uncertain is Theo Walcott. Arsene Wenger is planning to hold talks with Walcott’s advisors this week over a contract, while the forward is on international duty with England. Wenger will have to move quickly though as his contract expires in the summer and Juventus are circling in anticipation of tying him to a pre-contract agreement in January. (Daily Mirror)

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini visited the Vicente Calderon stadium on Sunday to cast an eye over Falcao, who scored in Atletico Madrid’s 2-1 victory over Malaga. The 26-year-old striker has been in impressive form this season and leapt to top of the shopping list for several clubs, following his performance against Chelsea in the Super Cup. Just when Roberto Mancini thought he had seen the last of his player troubles. Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli apparently boarded a budget airline flight from Manchester to Italy, just hours after he was substituted during City’s victory against Sunderland on Saturday.
Liverpool could be about to add another young talent to their squad. The Anfield club are again reported to be interested in signing Christian Eriksen as a replacement for ageing skipper Steven Gerrard.
