Mooroe’s Cheltenham Festival Competition
In assosiation with placeabetonline.co.uk
Tuesday 12th March 2013 sees the beginning of this years’ Cheltenham Festival and most importantly, the return of Mooroe’s Cheltenham Festival Competition.
Last year 76 players took part and it was Jane Heyes who took the 1st prize of £185, chased home by Nik Jenkins, James Orme and Ste Rankin.
Heyes’ victory came due to her banker pick UNE ARTISTE winning at 40-1, showing that it can be worth searching for a decent price rather than settling for an odds on winner.
This year I will be setting everything up similar to last year – a selection per race will have a £2 each way stake placed – however there are a couple of changes/improvements, including some free bets to give away.
How it Works
This year all players will be required to select a banker each day instead of one for the festival (all bankers give an additional £4 win stake).
Entry fees have increased from £5 to £7.
- £5 will go to the prize fund as per last year.
- 50p per person per day will be put together and I will place a WIN bet on the accumulated highest count of Banker picks for that day (must be 2/1 or more, if the highest count is below this price I will go to the next highest and so on until a horse with a bigger price than 2/1 is picked). Any winnings will be added to the prize fund pot. For example, if we have 76 entrants as per 2012 and on Tuesday 13th March Grandouet had 60% of banker picks for that day for the Champion Hurdle, I would take 50p per player = £38 and put a Win bet on that horse. If it wins at say 5/1 I will add the £228 winnings to the prize fund.
In the event of a Non Runner selection, horse number 1 will be selected as a replacement, if you have not amended your pick by the start of race one on that day
If you do not make selections by the start of race one on any day, horse number 1 will be selected as a replacement in each race.
If you would like to take part, entry forms need to be submitted to the email address below by midnight on Monday 11th March and the £7 entry fee payed by 10am on Tuesday 12th March 2013; if payment is not received by the deadline your entry will not count.
For payment details see the entry form, or if you have any queries please email email@example.com

Win £50 in FREE bets
On top of the competition prizes we have also been given £50 in free bets, by our friends at Bet365 to dish out to competition participants.
A FREE £10 bet will be dished out every day of the competition to the best performer of that day. There will also be a £10 free bet given out at the end of the tournament for the poor person who finishes last.
To qualify for the free bet you must have a Bet365 account, as we will require your username to credit the free bet to your account.
Free bet winners will be notified on a daily basis and usernames will be needed by the end of the final day.
You can open your Bet365 account for free.
We hope you enjoy the festival and more importantly Mooroe’s Tournament, Good Luck
